Diwali is the festival of lights and hence lights form an essential part of home décor on Diwali. From traditional clay Diyas to colorful decorative fairy lights- there are several options. Here are the most common types of Diwali home decoration lights and where and how you could use them:

·        Clay Diyas- Diwali is incomplete without Diyas. Traditional clay diyas are used in the pooja mandir as well as near the entrances of living rooms and bedrooms. You can also place them on table tops or in the verandah. They look perfect if placed amidst colorful rangoli designs. Clay diyas can be used as it is, or painted and decorated according to your own designs.

 

·        Candles- Candles, like diyas are a part of traditional Diwali home decoration lights and is widely used and preferred by many. Candles come in various shapes, sizes and colors. You can use several small candles together for maximum oomph or light up one big candle and place it on the center table or dining table. 


Candles are also used in the form of floating candles. These are placed in a pot or big bowl full of water and often teamed up with flower petals to make it look prettier.

 

·      Fairy lights- Fairy lights are widely used by many and they instantly make any place look prettier. Fairy lights not only look great inside the house but also look great on the outsides. They come in various shapes, sizes and lengths which only increases their utility.
